Woodland Garden

Cardiff

2014

We have created many woodland gardens over the years but this one is particularly special as it was created alongside a project we are completing in 2015 for Blind Veterans UK. It was created to celebrate the raising of funds at the RHS Flower Show Cardiff and will be a permanent garden next to Cardiff Castle.

The woodland garden consisted of native field maple, birch, dogwood and Viburnums for the upper story with lower layers of shrubs and ornamental perennials. The garden peaks in spring and early summer before the trees start to shade the groundcover and so the scheme includes a number of different daffodils in broad sweeps including small, fragrant Narcissus Tete a Tete.

The garden was awarded a Royal Horticultural Society Gold Medal and Best in Show at the RHS Flower Show Cardiff.
